I'm sitting in my room in the Super 8 down in Valdosta, Georgia. I'm here for the once-per-semester residency weekend for my DPA program. We finished up around noon today and I've been working on submitting The Passing Fracture to KDP for publishing for a few hours. The system is a bit wonky, but I got it done. Presuming Amazon doesn't flag any problems, the story should be available on Kindle and paperback sometime in the next few days.
Formatting the book for each format took much longer than I expected. It became much easier when I realized that templates were available for both. Creating the book cover was a bit stressful, but I figured that might be difficult. I tried hiring someone to create a cover. I didn't like what they produced, so I paid them and then created the cover on my own.
I still don't know if anyone other than my friends will enjoy this book. But I'm glad I was able to create something that some people found compelling.
